Congratulation to this years winners of the 2024 edition of the Boulevard Road Race. It was a great day with some tough racing.

The team competition was tight with the Davis Phinney Foundation taking the win at 18 by 1 point over Monster Cadence with 17 and third place SDBC with 10 points. View total team points

Team Challenge: Debuting this year, teams compete for a $1,000 prize, showcasing strategy and teamwork.

The Boulevard Road Race is an iconic road race in the backcountry of San Diego. Its first debut in 1984 puts this event at 40 years running in San Diego. The race offers a 22 mile loop on deserted back country roads with a rolling uphill climb and a smooth fast descent. Race categories list 44, 66, or 88-mile options with 1800 ft of climbing per lap.

Course Description: A 22-mile loop in the backcountry of San Diego County with approx. 1,800 ft of climbing per lap. Starting at the Golden Acorn Casino parking lot riders will have a neutral roll out of the parking lot with a controlled Left turn onto Old Hwy 80. Race starts heading West along Old Hwy 80 gradually descending 3 miles turning right on Tierra Del Sol and then Right onto Campo road continuing to descend another 7 miles. At La Posta Rd. make a Right turn with a sudden steep climb followed by 11 miles of undulating up and down climbing ~1,600 ft to the finish line located at the top of Old Hwy 80. Team Competition - New for 2024 is a Team Competition with an individual prize purse of $1,000 paid to the club or team that scores the highest combined USA Cycling Points for the day across all fields.

Rules: The course is open to traffic. The centerline rule is enforced. All riders are required to follow all rules of the road. Feeding is only allowed within the designated area. No parking on racecourse side. No individual support vehicles are allowed. All riders are self-supported so bring your tubes. No time trial bikes, or aero bars allowed. Must be present to accept awards/prizes. Metals awarded top 3 in 5-year age group increments for all Masters categories. *Cash fields also receive metals top 3 in age group or class however cash is awarded based on combined category.

Registration: Riders under 18 must have a parent/legal guardian “wet” signature on the release form (no electronic signatures). All riders must fill out a San Diego County release on the day of the event. The entry fee includes $5.30 insurance fee and $0.50 SCNCA surcharges. All riders must present a valid USA Cycling license at registration. Registration opens 1 hour before each race & closes 15 minutes before start. Unlicensed riders may race any of the Novice (N) options listed and will need to purchase a one-day USA Cycling license online or at registration for $15. 

Race Location: 1800 Golden Acorn Way, Campo, CA 91906 (South East end of lot)

Team Tents: RSVP required email info@KOZevents.com. Must be weighted and manned at all times by at least one member of the team to literally hold down the tent.
